Before I get into details let's address the "$64,000 question?” ……. Will this expansion make Deer Valley a better resort? My opinion is that it certainly will. I will not argue that some of the terrain closer to the Mayflower Village will have some challenges with snow quality due to its elevation and sun exposure but to be fair that is pretty consistent with most resort base areas in the country. The upper mountain is always where the best snow and terrain and that is no different here. The new terrain is closer to 9,000 feet in elevation and in addition to the spectacular views there will be great ski terrain for all ability types.

Alterra Mountain Company, the owner of Deer Valley, and Extell Development Company, the developer behind the Mayflower project, have reached a significant long-term operational agreement. This agreement will seamlessly integrate the Mayflower terrain into Deer Valley, marking a new chapter in the resort's expansion. The anticipated opening of initiation terrain is slated for the 2025-2026 ski season.

This addition of the Mayflower land will substantially enhance Deer Valley's overall terrain, expanding it by a substantial 3,700 acres. Consequently, the resort's total acreage will swell to an impressive 5,726 acres, surpassing its current offering of 2,026 acres.

Furthermore, this expansion will not only bring more terrain but also substantially increase recreational opportunities. Deer Valley's number of runs will grow from its current 103 to an impressive 238, providing visitors with even more choices for their skiing and snowboarding adventures. In addition to the expanded terrain, the number of lifts will also rise from 21 to 37, enhancing accessibility to various parts of the resort.

Notably, this expansion also retains Deer Valley's long-standing snowboarding prohibition and will extend to cover the newly integrated terrain, maintaining its dedication to providing North America's premier skiing-only experience.

For those who fall in love with the new Deer Valley Resort, the real estate offerings are significant. There are new Deer Valley Home-sites to purchase, Deer Valley townhomes, and Deer Valley homes/condominiums.
